FAQS
What does the APCA do, and what are the benefits of being a member?
A summary of the APCA initiatives and member benefits can be found here.
How can I join the APCA/Security Patrol
You can join the APCA only level or Combined APCA/Security Patrol by clicking here.
When I try to join I get the following message:
If you receive this message we already have your email address in our database. You may have joined as a non-member
in the past or let your APCA membership lapse. Select your name in the top left corner to access your profile. You can then change your membership level to a paid level. Contact technology@ansleypark.org if you need assistance.
I am currently a member at the APCA Only level. How do I upgrade my membership to include Security Patrol?
Contact technology@ansleypark.org to upgrade your membership level to include Security Patrol.
Can I pay by check?
Joining and renewing online cuts down on volunteer time, so if possible, we encourage residents to join by clicking here. However, If you would like to pay by check, you can download a Member Application/Renewal Form and mail to the address indicated on the form.
Can I be a member of the Security Patrol but not APCA?
No, there is no separate membership for Security Patrol. This is because APCA volunteers manage the Security Patrol, and various administrative costs come out of the APCA budget. The work done by APCA volunteers includes scheduling patrols, fielding calls, communicating with the officers on duty, communicating security incidences to the neighborhood, managing membership, serving as a liaison with the Atlanta Police Department, etc.
You can, however, make a donation to the Security Patrol at any time by going to ansleypark.org and clicking the “Donate” menu item.
You can be a member of the APCA and not the Security Patrol. We encourage everyone to join at the combined APCA/Security Patrol level, if feasible. This allows us to have more patrol shifts thus making the neighborhood safer for everyone.
If my condominium association is a “member”, does that mean I’m a member?
No, there is no collective condominium membership. Most condominium associations in Ansley Park make a donation to the Security Patrol. This is a very important contribution and adds to the level of security in the neighborhood. However, it does not designate APCA/Security Patrol membership for individual owners.
How is the Ansley Park Beautification Foundation related to the APCA?
While the APCA budgets money for maintaining and enhancing our greenspaces, there is always more work to be done! The Beautification Foundation was established in 1983 as a 501(c)(3), tax-‐exempt organization to further the efforts to enhance and maintain the public green spaces in Ansley Park (e.g. parks, traffic islands). The APCA and the Beautification Foundation work hand-‐in-‐hand on maintenance and long range planning for enhancements to our neighborhood islands, parks and playgrounds.
More information about the Ansley Park Beautification Foundation can be found at ansleybeautification.org.
How can I volunteer/get involved in the neighborhood?
You can express areas of volunteer interest by filling out the Volunteer Interest Form on the website
(ansleypark.org/Volunteer). Keep a lookout in the Ansleyphile and E-News for information volunteer opportunities! You must be a member of APCA to serve on one of its committees.
Joining Neighborhood Diners (the APCA's dining club) is a great way to get to know neighbors. Neighborhood Diners kicks off in January each year, so keep a lookout in the Anlseyphile for sign up time! You must be an APCA member to join Neighborhood Diners.
Another fun way to get involved is to attend events organized by the Special Events Committee! The Special Events plans many social events per year. APCA Members get a reduced member rate.
Finally, check out the Ansleyphile for the neighborhood book club schedules (available to APCA members).
How do I know who to contact if I have a question not covered here?
The inside cover of the Anslephile, the monthly newsletter distributed to all residents, contains the APCA Board of Directors and their contact information. You can contact the applicable person directly or goto ansleypark.org and select Contact Us from the upper right menu. Your message will be routed to the appropriate person.
